CPA Book Awards


This program recognizes the outstanding work of publishers, authors, and book editors. These books promote exceptional Catholic material to the general public, and their writing support readers in their journey to live a faith-filled life.

The Catholic Press Association announces winning entry names at its Catholic Media Conference in June, publishes them in the Awards issue of The Catholic Journalist, and showcases them on the CPA website.

Books submitted to the CPA Book Awards must have a copyright date from the preceding year. Publishers may submit any works published by their company. Authors may submit works of which they are the primary author or co-author. Editors may submit their compilations or reference books.

2021 Program

Key Dates

Open Submission Period: November 2nd   through February 1st

Extension Period: February 2nd through February 8th

Hard Copy Materials Due: Friday, February 12th


Entry Fees

CPA Members - $36 per entry during Open Period, $45 during Extension Period

Non-Members -  $76 per entry

The 2021 packets will be available October 12th.
