The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) will host a religious press tour of Jordan, Oct. 6-15, 2017. This #HolyJordan tour is limited to Christian media, bloggers and influencers. It is designed to give religious media a chance to learn firsthand – and share with varied audiences — more about the rich biblical history, traditions, culture and people of Jordan; pilgrimage/religious travel opportunities; the vital work of the Church in Jordan and interfaith peace-building efforts.

Itinerary Highlights:
• Visits to biblical sites, including Mount Nebo, the Bethany Beyond the Jordan baptismal site and other locations of the Old and New Testaments.
• Briefings and visits to church-supported programs/ministries.
• Briefings by Jordanian officials and free time for individual interviews.
• The rose-red rock city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; Camping in Wadi Rum, the desert that T.E. Lawrence called "vast, echoing and God-like;” the Dead Sea and much more.

General Information:
Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) will provide round-trip airfare to Jordan from our gateway airport in North America (New York-JFK). JTB will provide a certified guide for the duration of the tour; special briefing opportunities with Jordanian officials; accommodation at four- and five-star hotels; ground transportation; meals and park entrance fees.

Journalists/Bloggers are responsible for domestic travel to/from our gateway airport, plus tips and incidentals. The typical total cost of tips/incidentals for the entire tour is $175-$200.

Special Consideration: Preference will be given to applicants who plan video storytelling in intended news coverage, blogs or social media.

*Participants must have a passport that does not expire within six months of commencement of travel. Your passport date of expiration must be submitted with your application in order to be considered for this tour.

The Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Center (JICRC) is an interfaith organization that was established in 2003. It is concerned with the sensitive and vital issue of coexistence in the world in general, and within the Middle East region in particular. One of the JICRC's primary objectives is to provide advice and assistance to governments, organizations and individual decision-makers regarding the issue of peace-building based on religious beliefs, using fourteen centuries of peaceful interfaith coexistence in Jordan and human rights principles as models for building a better political, social, economic, cultural, and security environment. JICRC is a non-governmental Center registered in The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the name of "The Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Center" (JICRC). Offices are located in Amman, Jordan.
