Photography at a funeral Mass

Posted By Kevin Wondrash, Tuesday, November 30, 2010
I've got a question for all the photojournalists out there about taking photos at a funeral Mass.

I just attended the funeral Mass for our retired auxiliary bishop, Bishop Wirz, and took photos for the paper. I've never taken photos at a funeral before, and felt slightly awkward, as if I were intruding. For other photojournalists who've done it before, how do you toe the line between being intrusive and getting the photos necessary for the story?

Too bad you got no posts. I would have been curious to see what folks said.
