On the web, and in social media, video, audio, and print, the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) helps the Church spread the Gospel message through the media. CCC funds support media locally, nationally and in developing areas of the world where the Church is growing but lacking in resources. Half of all donations to the CCC collected in each diocese can stay in the diocese to support local communications needs, such as radio and television programming and diocesan publications.
The Gospel of Christ and the teachings of his Church guide the work of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The work of the Conference is rooted in three general mission goals and organized into three key areas of responsibility:
As part of the USCCB, the Communications Committee assists the bishops, both individually and collectively, to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the communications media. The committee seeks to support the work of evangelization and faith formation through a comprehensive approach to media that includes Catholic News Service, the primary source of national and world news that appears in the U.S. Catholic press, and myUSCCB, an online set of ministry tools and resources to help parishes plan for everyday life. Under the oversight of the Committee’s Catholic Communication Campaign Subcommittee, these endeavors and others are made possible in part through donations to the CCC appeal.
