|Friend Sponsor: Jordan Tourism Board, North America|
The Jordan Tourism Board, North America sponsors a variety of fact-finding trips to Jordan, so that religious leaders and media can document firsthand the rich biblical history, contemporary life and work of the Church in Jordan, the eastern part of the Holy Land.
Pilgrims to Jordan can experience faith, fellowship and adventure while following in the footsteps of Moses, Elijah, Ruth, John the Baptist, Jesus, St. Paul the Apostle and so many other biblical prophets and early Church figures. Pilgrims can explore unspoiled biblical sites, including the protected wilderness park of Bethany beyond the Jordan (John 1:28), where Jesus was baptized.
In addition to the pilgrim trails, Jordan offers the peaceful waters of the Dead Sea; the “vast, echoing and God-like” desert of Wadi Rum; the remarkable Greco-Roman ruins of the Decapolis cities of Jerash and Umm Qais; the Red Sea port town of Aqaba and the remains of Petra, the “rose-red city half as old as time.”
